Red Fox Agate Pair

Originating from the Cordón Cabezón volcano complex in Patagonia, Argentina, the fiery red in this iconic Red Fox Agate emulates the volcano it was mined from. The bold red Hematite against the dusky mauve Agate is just one of the many reasons collectors adore this rare and unique variety. Red Fox Agate is a relatively new discovery, having been found in 1997, and is only found in this one locale.

Here, the agate in this pair is overwhelmed with blue-gray chalcedony and creates stunning banding across the agate. Funnily enough, the bright red Hematite near the center of the triangular agate gives the specimens the appearance of fox ears.
