A dimorph of the far more common Cavansite, fine Pentagonite is found in a ratio of 1 to 1,000 in India, where the Deccan basalt traps are the only great locality that exists for them in quality. No where else produces such beautiful blue crystals. Pentagonite gets its name due to the fact the crystals form in an unusual five-fold "pentagonal star".

This burst of Pentagonite crystals sit perfectly balanced within the white crystalline vug, displaying the classic saturated blue color. Some hair-like, secondary crystals are embedded in the larger white crystals.
