Labradorite Disc

The iridescent effect Labradorite is known for occurs when light enters the stone and reflects off a “twinning surface” within, displaying the color of light from that surface. Different surfaces reflect different colors such as peacock blue, red, orange, and yellow, creating an iridescent effect on the stone called labradorescence.

A collection of smaller Labradorite slices have been combined to form this disc, and has been polished to a high-shine to show off the iconic peacock blue the stone is known for. Display this Labradorite where it can be viewed from multiple angles to show off the stone’s iridescent properties.
