While Fluorite can be found the world over, each country it’s found in has unique characteristics and traits that instantly advertise its place of origin. This makes Fluorite an excellent collector piece as you build your “Fluorite Passport” with specimens from around the world.

This English Fluorite is front he Cousin Jack Pocket of the well-known Rogerley Mine in Durham, England, wherein the Weardale valley is one of the most recognizable locality due to its vibrancy. Many of the pieces from the Cousin Jack Pocket are brilliant and rich shades of green- in fact, when this verdant Fluorite was first found in 1818, miners initially thought they had found Emerald.

Many of the specimens from the Cousin Jack Pocket feature Galena accompanying the Fluorite. Galena’s metallic luster and distinct silver color make it a visually interesting pairing with the Fluorite.

These English Fluorite specimens are sold individually, and due to the natural formation of these minerals they may not look exactly like the examples photographed. To view our full selection, please visit us in the Museum Store.

Pieces will vary in size, but will typically be between 3.25 - 4.75 inches long.
