Based off the design of Victor Mugs, these Dinosaur Diner Mugs are built to last and warm your hands while holding them.
In the early 1940s, the US Navy put a bid out on a contract for coffee mugs on their ships. These mugs would need to be resistant to breaking and be able to stay stationary on stormy waves. Victor Insulators, Inc. demand for porcelain insulators was down due to World War II, and won the Navy contract. The mugs had curved sides that were easy to grip, a heavy build to prevent cracking, and had an unglazed ring on the underside to prevent sliding on surfaces. Demand for these mugs continued long after the war ended.
