Ancient Chinese bronze pitchers and jars found in tombs and burial sites often turn green due to natural patina/verdigris. These pitchers were filled with water or wine as offerings to one's ancestors. Many of these pitchers, or guangs, were crafted to resemble an animal and have the wine be filtered through the mouth of the represented beast.
This pitcher is a reproduction and is for decorative use only.
