Bead setting is the art of placing small gems into depressions in the metal and then setting the stone with a tiny, imperceptible bead of metal. Bead or pavé set jewelry was popular during the Georgian through Edwardian periods. The style has come back in fashion with the use of CAD technology that permits pavé setting the tiniest of gems and crystals.
