Made famous by James Bowie in the early 19th century, the Bowie knife is a fixed-blade fighting knife with a crossguard and clip point. It's gone through several iterations and definitions over the centuries, where the first version showed a strong Mediterranean influence and resembled Spanish hunting knives of the day. After James Bowie's Sandbar Fight, his brothers received many requests for knives of the same design.

Nowadays, the Bowie knife is best suited as a hunting knife. The curved top clip bevel of the blade is useful for skinning, while the straight portion of the blades edge can be used for cutting meat.

Damascus steel swords were forged in the Near East from ingots of crucible steel- a metal made by melting iron and cast-iron together along with sand, glass, or ashes in a crucible. The process of creating Damascus steel has been lost, and modern forging methods can only approximate the characteristics of historic Damascus steel.

Many modern Damascus steel products are made using pattern welding, where the steel is made by folding several different metals together multiple times, each layer being welded on top of the next. This process gives the steel its unique pattern resembling the ancient blades.

Blade is 7.5 inches long
13.75 inches long with sheath
