Our fishy friend here is Knightia, a fish who lived 50 million years ago during the Eocene period in the three large lakes that covered southwest Wyoming in an area now called the Green River Formation. Fossils excavated from the Green River formation are characterized by their exquisite, highly detailed, brown-black preservation on a light cream limestone background. These specimens make a phenomenal display piece.
Size varies with each specimen. Approximately 5 x 3 inches, and .25 inch thick.
