Named after the village of Molina de Aragon in Spain, Aragonite can form in a variety of colors due to the impurities caught in the crystals.

This stone is sensitive to CO2 levels, and can provide scientists valuable information about ancient and modern ocean acidification. Aragonite can be found in multiple living aquatic organisms as nacre and as the internal structure of corals. At a certain pH level, Aragonite becomes water-soluble, meaning it will start to dissolve and the effects can be observed in shell and coral reef health.

This Aragonite specimen showcases hundreds of pseudo hexagonal and columnar crystals in shades varying from peach to blood orange.
