Labradorite was originally discovered in Labrador and is one of the few gemstones whose name comes from the site of their discovery.

Labradorite’s colors range from a gray-green to yellow, blue and even purple. The prominent peacock blue flashes in what’s called labradorescence are unique to this stone, and is when light is reflected in only one direction, rarely two.
