One of the most famous and well-known megafaunas of North America, the Woolly Mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) lived during the Pleistocene, 2.6 million years ago, until they went extinct during the last ice age, approximately 10,000 years ago.
Mammoth molars are found in the cold northern regions of Alaska, Canada, Russia, and Siberia, where they have been kept preserved for tens of thousands of years. Colors vary and may include shades of cream, brown, tan, black, white or gray. Each one found is a one-of-a-kind.
