This fossilized Turritella specimen has been meticulously excavated to showcase the spiral the genus gets its name from. “Turitus” means turreted, or towered, in Latin and is in reference to the long, cone shape the spiral twists itself into.

This fossil is approximately 10 inches long and 8 inches tall. The widest part of the shell has a 4 inch diameter.
