Ready to eat anytime, anywhere. While originally developed for the early Apollo Space missions, astronaut ice cream never actually made it aboard the Apollo rockets. NASA had commissioned a number of companies to create freeze-dried snacks for astronauts to munch on while in zero g, and some did create freeze-dried ice cream; due to the crumbs in the foil packets, it was never space worthy.

A unique novelty of its own, Astronaut Ice Cream is still an icon of the Space Race and Apollo Missions, even if it's never made it out of the stratosphere.
