The Virobloc Safety Rings were invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955 and are fitted to our folding Opinel knives. The stainless steel Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open for safety while in use, you can also lock the blade closed for safety on the go.

The Opinel beechwood handle is hand carved in the US, and the durable wood is sourced in France.

Carbon steel needs to be kept out of damp environments, and the blade should be cleaned and dried after every use.
