These fossil shells, naturally coated with druzy quartz crystals are a rare and recent discovery in the Dhar region of India. Some of the crystals have been coated with an iridescent metallic finish to give them a little color. The shells are unique not only because of the crystallization, but also because they have a left-handed spiral, which only occurs in about 10% of shells. The fossil shells date about 100 million years.
