Among the world's noisiest bird, the Toucan gets its name from the noises it makes. They are vital to the success of rainforests due to their consumption of fruits and nuts, and spreading those seeds to other parts of the rainforest. Their oversized beaks account for half of their body length, and makes them less than graceful while flying. Because of this, they mostly hop around tree branches to get around.
The pink color of rose quartz is attributed to microscopic inclusions of a pink variety of the mineral dumortierite. These inclusions are usually abundant enough to make the rose quartz translucent instead of transparent. Rose Quartz is fairly common and found in many places throughout the world, and can occur in very large examples in nature. This allows exceedingly large gemstones to be cut from it.
Like amethyst, Citrine is a quartz variant found in geodes and gets its color from iron impurities. With shades ranging from the perfect summer orange to a strong amber honey, most of the world’s citrine is found in Brazil. Queen Victoria had a particular fondness for the stone, and had it used as decoration in her summer residence in the mid 19th century.
Naturally occurring Citrine isn’t as common as amethyst, much of the citrine found on the market is heated-amethyst. These Citrines are a darker orange, almost red-orange or brown in appearance, while naturally forming Citrine is lighter, closer to a pastel orange or yellow-orange shade. This process can also form Prasiolite, a form of green quartz crystal.
