Dark Smoky Quartz crystals rise like promontory peaks from a Feldspar matrix, dappled with Spessartine Garnet crystals as if sparkling raindrops after a storm. This vibrant piece is from the Wushan Spessartine Mine, Tongbei, Yunxiao Co., Zhangzhou Prefecture, Fujian Province, China. The Wushan Spessartine Mine is well-known for its gemmy orange Spessartine Garnets, and has since closed to collectors. This piece in particular is a really excellent example of what is now a classic Chinese mineral.
