Otodus obliquus is an extinct genus of shark that lived from the Paleocene to the Eocene epochs, between 60 and 45 million years ago. Otodus is an extinct version of a mackerel shark that has also been linked to being a predecessor to the ever famous Carcharodon Megalodon. These sharks have been estimated to reach lengths of 39 to 30 feet (12 to 9 meters) and could weigh as much as 15 tons.
Our shark teeth have been excavated from the phosphate mines of Khouribga, Morocco and have been lightly polished, wrapped in wire, and placed on a brown suede necklace.
Since these are natural items, the size, color, and shape will differ slightly from those displayed. The teeth will vary in size from 1 1/4" - 1 1/2" L and the color can range from a light tan to a dark brown.
