Chaulmoogra oil had been previously used to treat leprosy, but it provided inconsistent results and was very painful for patients. Ball discovered a water-soluble form of the oil that could be dissolved in the bloodstream. This became the most effective treatment for leprosy until the 1940s when sulfonamide drugs were developed. Even though Ball was the first woman and first African American to receive a masters degree from the University of Hawaii, the first female chemistry professor there, and made significant contributions in her field, some guy tried to take credit for Ball’s work after her death. Luckily, however, this man was corrected and we can now say ‘cheers’ to Alice Ball on February 29th – Alice Ball Day.

The cat was sacred in ancient Egypt. Although they can be sown any time of year, wildflower seeds are best planted in the fall. Scatter the seeds on the surface (do not cover with soil) of a prepared site, ideally with good drainage. Water the area well, and walk away to let them do their thing! Most wildflowers will germinate in the fall, grow during the winter, and bloom in spring. These seeds can be stored in a cool, dry place until you're ready to plant them.

Contains a mix of seeds from the following wildflowers:

Big Bluestem, Indiangrass, Eastern Gamagrass, Virginia Wildrye,
Partridge Pea, Purple Coneflower, American Basketflower,
Sideoats Grama, Little Bluestem, Tall dropseed, Indian Blanket,
Sand Dropseed, Black-Eyed Susan, Illinois Bundleflower,
Lanceleaf Coreopsis, Texas Bluebonnet, Standing Cypress,
Plains Coreopsis, Swamp Milkweed, Broomsedge Bluestem,
Cowpen Daisy, Purpletop, Switchgrass, Rattlesnake Master,
Marsh Elder, Sand Lovegrass, Clasping Coneflower, Lemon Mint,
Maximilian Sunflower, Pink Evening Primrose, Swamp Sunflower,
Splitbeard Bluestem, Gayfeather Blazing Star, Purple Lovegrass,
Cutleaf Evening Primrose, Winecup

Sold individually

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0652/3866/3388/files/wildflower-seeds-texas-native-flowers.jpg?v=1771877922
quartz-on-stand
Quartz on Stand

Consisting of numerous transparent crystals aesthetically arranged with the longest crystal stemming from the upper center mass, this Quartz cluster is a collectors masterpiece.
