Shana Gulati’s collections are a modern interpretation inspired by her Indian heritage. Traditional shapes and motifs are updated with a new approach to diamonds; setting sliced raw diamonds in colorful resin.
The earliest diamonds were found in India and were traded along the Silk Road as far back as the 4th century BCE. Prized for their ability to refract light and engrave and cut metals, diamonds were also kept as talismans. The natural progression from talisman to adornment exploded during the late middle ages with the evolution of diamond cutting. The first known diamond engagement ring dates back to the 15th century.
