“The green reed which bends in the wind is stronger than the mighty oak which breaks in a storm.” -Confucius
Thankfully, once you purchase this vase, it’s not going anywhere. Ironwood is known for its hardiness and sturdiness. And though this vase be but little, it is fierce. The bright turquoise inlay stands out strongly against the dark grain of the ironwood and makes a marvelous statement piece in your home.
Artist Larry Favorite was a mechanical engineer on the fast track for success in the business world back in the early 1970s when he decided to leave his business career to pursue a growing interest in art. Forty five years later, Favorite continues to work exclusively with desert irowood which is only found in the Sonoran Desert in the American southwest. Some of this rare wood has laid dead in the desert between 200 and 1,500 years. Favorite inlays turquoise into the wood as seen in this exquisite piece.
