Alexis Bittar is described as "one of the greatest jewelry designers of the 21st century." Using Lucite, a thermoplastic material created for WWII military equipment, and gemstones, Alexis' collections reflect his fascination with historic design movements and modern materials.
One hallmark of Victorian design was romantic symbolism. Both the snake and the buckle represented love, eternity, and fidelity. Alexis touches on these motifs in his collection, along with nods towards Victorian chatelaines and the rich, dark jewels popular during the period.
