The Cat's Eye Nebula consists of glowing gasses ejected into outer space by a dying star. Individual chemical elements in the nebula emit light at very specific wavelengths. Enhanced photography from the Hubble telescope reveal a complex nebula with a hot and bright star at its center.
3" paperweight is handblown by artists in Seattle, Washington and contains dichroic glass (an optical metallic oxide glass developed by NASA) and ash from the 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens.
Due to its handmade nature, each paperweight will be unique.
